this season in life is the sweetest. seeing my best friends fall in love and get engaged makes my heart so full of joy. elizabeth monet and i met my junior year of college, and we were attached to the hip from the moment we met. she is my very best friend.
she met cody while they were working at a summer camp. she would always bring him up in conversation… “i talked to that guy cody on facebook today.” soon enough they were back working at summer camp together, and soon after that they were dating.
when i met cody, i just knew.
cody has such a charm about him (it helps that he has the best southern accent i have ever heard) not only that, but he is the kindest man. when you first meet cody, you feel like you have known him your whole life. the best part about cody… he loves elizabeth with his whole heart.

erika & i met on instagram. she lives in florida but grew up here in the hampton roads area. do you want to get a better idea of how much smaller the world is than we actually think it is? erika and i have mutual friends here in VA & in Florida.

this wedding was special to me. i had a hard time holding back tears during the ceremony because i got to not only photograph one of my close friends wedding but witnessing it brought me so much joy. like i said in my last post there is nothing sweeter than seeing one of your close friends fall in love.

emily was my best friend in high school. we would watch every single episode of The O.C in one day, we would have dance parties in parking lots (just the two of us), we would stay up all night talking to boys, we went to every dance together. she was my partner in crime. those memories i will cherish forever, and they used to be my favorite, but now my favorite memories are doing her engagement photos.. and then her wedding. meeting nick made my heart leap. emily and i lost touch through college but our friendship picked right back up where we left off. so, when i met nick, i knew instantly that he was perfect for her. i wanted to cry after editing these photos because honestly, there is nothing sweeter but to see your best friend find the love of her life.

the moment anna emailed me, i felt like we were friends. we emailed back and forth for months, she constantly sent me sweet links of blogs that inspired her, which she hoped that would inspire me. she called me one afternoon and we talked for over an hour, we had just bonded.
this is something that i hope for every bride i encounter.
the day that came for her wedding, i felt like i was shooting one of my close friends wedding. her family is from Louisiana so i felt an instant connection with them, being a texan and all. her family treated me like family.
this wedding was classic, simple, and so romantic. it wasn’t long and drawn out.. they just wanted to be married and be surrounded by their family and that to me.. is what weddings are supposed to be like.
